Focused Operational Review

A practical first look at a defined area, straightforward process or known issue

The Focused Operational Review provides an independent assessment of a clearly defined part of the operation. It is intended to identify visible losses, plant-condition issues, weak controls and immediate improvement opportunities without attempting to undertake a detailed analysis of every process stage.

The review may cover a smaller site, a basic ECS line, a picking area, a bagging operation, a material-flow issue or a general site walkaround.

Typical areas reviewed

  • General plant condition

  • Visible material losses and spillages

  • Obvious throughput restrictions

  • Operator routines and workarounds

  • Housekeeping and site organisation

  • Basic maintenance concerns

  • Material storage and movement

  • Immediate operational and compliance observations

  • Areas requiring deeper investigation

Typical output

  • Concise photographic findings report

  • Main observations and operational concerns

  • Priority action list

  • Immediate improvements and quick wins

  • Clear indication of where a deeper audit may be required

  • Follow-up discussion

Best suited to

  • Smaller or less complex operations

  • A straightforward ECS or sorting line

  • A defined production area

  • A known issue requiring an independent view

  • An owner wanting a practical starting point

  • An initial review before committing to a larger piece of work

Typical duration

Usually one day on site, with off-site report preparation.
