Screening & Conveying
Drum screens, vibrating screens, feeders and conveyors that size, present and move material so every separator in the line performs.

The equipment that makes a line work
Separators perform best on a sized, evenly spread feed. Drum and vibrating screens split material into fractions, feeders present it in an even layer, and chain and belt conveyors link each stage.
MHP specifies screening and handling equipment as part of the whole line, so capacities, transfer points and access work together.
Equipment available through MHP
Screens, feeders and conveyors are sized to your material and the separators they serve.
- 01
Drum screens and trommels
Rubber-driven drums with internal cleaning, for wet and mixed material.
- 02
Vibrating screens
Flat-deck sizing of dry, free-flowing fractions ahead of separation.
- 03
Hooded hoppers and apron feeders
Receive bulky material and meter it into the line.
- 04
Belt conveyors
Troughed and flat belts to link each stage.
- 05

Typical applications
- Shredder infeed and outfeed
- Sizing ahead of eddy current and sensor sorting
- Incinerator bottom ash and slag
- Construction and demolition waste
- Household and commercial waste
- Wet and sticky material
Next stage in the line? See magnetic separation or eddy current separation.
Sizing, feeding and handling
Getting material to the separator at the right size and in the right layer is where much of the recovery is won.
Drum screens and trommels
A rotating perforated drum splits material into size fractions. Rubber drive wheels keep vibration and noise low, and an internal cleaning device stops the holes blinding.
- Handles wet, sticky, dirty and mixed material
- Simple to install, operate and maintain
- Low power use for the throughput
- Optional bag-opening device
Vibrating screens
Vibrating screens size dry, free-flowing material on one or more decks, so each fraction reaches the separator best suited to it.
- Single and multi-deck options
- Sharp sizing ahead of sensor sorters
- Even presentation of each fraction
- Specified to fraction size and throughput
Vibrating feeders
Vibrating feeders meter material and spread it into an even layer, so separators and sorters see one piece at a time.
- Even, controllable feed rate
- Improves eddy current and sensor sorting results
- Can be integrated with a drum magnet
- Variable speed control
Chain and belt conveyors
Chain conveyors take heavy, sharp scrap and bale feeding. Belt conveyors in troughed, cleated and inclined forms link screens, magnets and separators.
- Heavy-duty chain conveyors for shredder infeed
- Belt conveyors to suit each transfer point
- Access walkways and guarding designed in
- Matched to line capacity
Drum screen sizes
A guide to the sizes available. Every unit is specified to your feed, so final figures are confirmed at quotation.
Drum screens (trommels)
| Drum | Length | Power | Output |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ø1,200 mm | 2 m | 4.0 kW | 12 m³/h |
| Ø1,200 mm | 6 m | 5.5 kW | 20 m³/h |
| Ø1,500 mm | 9 m | 11 kW | 50 m³/h |
| Ø1,500 mm | 12 m | 18.5 kW | 65 m³/h |
| Ø1,800 mm | 12 m | 22 kW | 75 m³/h |
| Ø2,000 mm | 12 m | 30 kW | 85 m³/h |
Manufacturer data. Capacity depends on material, bulk density, particle size and feed preparation, and is confirmed by trial or calculation for your application.
More than a machine on a lorry
- Matched to your material
The machine is selected around your feed, throughput and target product, not a catalogue.
- Installed properly
Installation, integration and commissioning are carried out by our own engineering team.
- Supported afterwards
Spares, wear parts and site support are available through MHP.
Three steps to a quote
- 01Tell us the material
What it is, its size range and what you need to recover or remove.
- 02Share your site details
Throughput, available space and any existing equipment.
- 03Receive options
MHP recommends a suitable machine and sends a quote. Prices are given on request.
